Insured vs Uninsured — What Manitoba Health Covers
When a patient presents a valid Manitoba Health card, medically necessary physician services — such as a walk-in visit, a family practice appointment, or an assessment for a diagnosed condition — are covered under the Manitoba Health Services Insurance Plan (MHSIP) at no direct cost to the patient.
Services that fall outside that coverage are billed directly to the patient as uninsured services. This generally includes forms and certificates completed at a patient's request, medical exams required for licensing or employment rather than for diagnosis or treatment, and treatments such as Emsella, Shockwave and PRP that Manitoba Health does not cover. Advanced Treatment Fees
For all three advanced treatments below, the initial physician assessment is billed to Manitoba Health. The treatment itself — the Emsella, Shockwave or PRP session — is billed privately as an uninsured service.

Missed Appointment Fee Winnipeg
A fee of $35 to $130 applies to appointments missed or cancelled without at least 24 hours' notice. This policy follows the Doctors Manitoba fee guide and exists because a missed appointment is time that could otherwise have gone to another patient waiting to be seen. Providing as much notice as possible when a scheduled visit needs to change helps keep that time available for others.
