Patients are registered on arrival and placed in a queue, seen first-come, first-served. The clinic may stop accepting new walk-in patients ahead of the posted closing time if patient volume for the day has reached capacity. A valid Manitoba Health card is required for a walk-in visit. Bringing a short list of current medications and a brief note of the symptoms and how long they've been present helps the physician move through the visit efficiently.

STI & STD Testing in Winnipeg
Confidential STI/STD testing is available by appointment, without a referral. Testing, results and treatment are handled as part of the visit with a physician.
What We Test For
The panel tests for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis, along with HIV screening. The physician determines which tests are appropriate based on symptoms, exposure history and the patient's own concerns.
Confidential — No Referral Needed
STI/STD testing at the walk-in clinic does not require a referral from another physician. Results and health information are handled under the same confidentiality standards that apply to any other visit, in line with Manitoba's Personal Health Information Act. Patients are welcome to ask the physician directly about how their information is recorded and shared.
How Long Results Take
Lab results are typically available within a few days. Patients should ask at the time of testing how and when to expect their results, and what to do if they have not heard back within that window.
Treatment
Where treatment is indicated, it can typically begin the same day results are available, or sooner if symptoms and clinical judgment support starting treatment before results return. Partner notification for reportable infections follows the process set out by Manitoba public health authorities; the physician can explain what that involves for a specific diagnosis.
Cuts, Wounds & Stitches
The walk-in clinic provides same-day care for cuts and wounds that need cleaning, closure or ongoing dressing care, including:
- Laceration assessment and cleaning
- Suturing (stitches) for wounds that require closure
- Suture removal once a wound has healed
- Dressing changes for healing wounds
A physician assesses the wound to determine whether it can be closed at the walk-in visit or whether it needs a different level of care.
